Cached Timeline Not Really Cached

When I cache lenghty timelines for preview and everything is green, I hit play and then it starts playing back as if it's not cached at all. I always purge my cache and I have plenty of ram (128gb), 200gb of media cache allocated to NVme drives and still wonder what the heck is going on. Why is AE showing me it's all cached but will only play a few seconds before chugging again? I am on a very decent machine too.

AE version 22.4.0 (but I've noticed this for several versions)

Windows 11 Pro, 128GB ram, RTX 3080ti, Intel i912900k, Samsung Pro NVme drives

Does it load fully after playing it through once while choppy? I find that occasionally happens to mine with larger projects.

You might try disabling Multi-Frame Rendering in the Memory & Performance options; that can have a large impact.

How much playback time are you trying to cache?   Are you filling the cache in which case AE will start overwriting it?  What is the rotio of allocation of your ram between AE and "Other Apps"? Like rtr23841119  said  disbaling MFR could help if you are using effects that are not optimized for it.
