Hi guys,
I don’t use a lot of cameras in AE so I’m thinking this is probably fairly difficult, hope I’m wrong!
I’m messing about with a logo for an Iracing team, I want the camera to move a long the path of a hexagon, like it is racing around it….see attached…
How on earth do I get the camera to follow the path of the Hexagon? Do I create a null path and attach the camera to that??
Many thanks for your help!

You can copy & paste the path directly to the relevant properties after converting the procedural polygon to a regular path. Yes, you can parent stuff just as well based on that. in any case, it's gonna look garbage. That's not how human perception works and from a mere technical viewpoint the sharp corners are going to cause bumps. It would be better to hand-animate the motion similar to how the car would move along the track hovering from left to right based on the forces and acceleration.

Hi Mylenium,
Many thanks for the reply.
Sounds tricky! Is this a pretty hard thing to achieve, time consuming I'm imagining? I have no issue putting the time in if it looks ok lol.
Cheers

Maybe this short tutorial I made a long time ago will help:
Start by converting the Hexagon shape layer to a path by right-clicking on the Shape Layer/Contents/Polygon, then follow the steps in the tutorial to attach the camera to the path.
