I have quite a different problem. I updated to Cinema4d Studio, but I can't change the render path in the Cineware plug-in to the Studio version. It always jumps back to the Lite version.
Does anyone know why that is?
Yes, this is the reason. A lot of render options are disable in the Student version of Cinema 4D,so After Effects cannot connect to the C4D's render engine.

Have you tried this in the new version of AE that just came out or is this in an older version?

It's the new version of After Effects. I can't find a solution for this.

Do you have a tip?

It is important to follow the recommended steps:
1.- Create a new comp and go to Layer > New > Maxon Cinema 4D File.
2.- Save the Cinema 4D file where you want.
3.- Access Cineware through Effects Control in After Effects an click Options in the top of the window
4.- Change the Renderer to the Studio version directory. (Attached image)
The next steps are crucial to do it correctly
5.- Restart After Effects.
6.- Go to Edit > Purge > All memory and Disk Cache
7.- Access to Cineware options again and the renderer should be the renderer in the studio version.

Tried this several times. The renderer always jumps back. Even changed the port one time. Didn't work out either.

Then try to delete the AE preferences before doing the previous steps. As soon as you launch AE press Command/Ctrl+Alt+Shift. You will be prompted to delete AE preferences file. Click Yes and follow the steps we told you in the previous answer.
Anyway I would like to ask you a couple of things:
Did you have installed a previous version of AE?
What version is C4D Studio?
Thanks

Doesn't work...
...but maybe I found the problem. I use After Effects 2018 and Cinema4d R19, but with a student license. I read that the teamrender functions are turned off for the free student version. Is it possible that it also means that I can't use Cinema4d as renderer in After Effects?

Good to know. I'm going to upgrade to the commercial version then.
Thanks.
