Can’t expand a rectangle ?

When I expand a rectangle that I put inside a composition, it does not cover the entire area of the

We need a better workflow description or a screenshot of your UI with the modified properties of the problem layer revealed. Just drag or copy and paste the screenshot to the reply field instead of using the "Drag & drop here..." area so we can see it without downloading the image. 

 

Scale, or shape layer rectangle size, or distance from the camera should fill the composition frame with any shape layer rectangle or solid.

You've created a shape layer with a rectangle shape.  You can either drag the corners to have it expand, or you can expand its properties on the timeline and set values for the width and height there.

If you'd prefer to start again, make sure no layer is selected and double-click on the rectangle tool which will create a shape layer with a rectangle that is full screen.

the point is when I drag the corners to have it expand it won't cover the whole composition ther still a small area in the right side

Ah, I see it now.  It almost looks like the shape layer is not the full width of the comp (which isn't possible - i think)

Could the layer be picking up an alpha matte from another layer?  It's hard to tell without seeing your whole screen.
