Change Text, adding the render queue, then changing the text again and repeating?

Hello,

I have an affect effects file, on this file I have a text box with a name.

I want to change the name to "Stephen", then add it to the render queue, and then change the name to "Jamie", then add that to the render queue and so on until I have 50 different names in the render queue. And then click "render" so I can leave my PC running and it renders all 50. How do I do this?

(When I add each one to the render queue and start the render, it only creates files for the last name I entered and not each name. I.e. it creates 50 files but all with the same name, enough I changed the name on each before adding each to the render queue).

TIA

Hi @so79468222,

Thanks for the question. Your problem sounds workflow related. Have you saved each project file before adding them to the queue? Let us know any details about how you are working so we can help you better. Sorry for the issue.

Cheers,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Yes I have saved each file before adding to the queue.

The steps are as follows:

1) Edit the text to the name I wish

2) Save project

3) Add to render queue

4) Change the output file name to the name I wish

5) I then go back to step 1 and repeat until I have several names in the queue and then I start the render. But once the render has completed all the files as "saved as" the correct names that I entered, but the contents on each file are exactly the same.

The Render Queue does not start a background copy of After Effects for rendering so you have to render, then change, then render.

The Media Encoder does not work that way. When you add a project to the Media Encoder it creates a copy AEP at the time you add the file. You can set up a Watch Folder or Just add each change in the comp to the Media Encoder, and then render.

Maybe a better option would be to open the Extended Graphics workspace and create a MOGRT from your file. You can then open Premiere Pro and add the MOGRT for your animated graphics to any sequence and edit the text on the fly. That is probably the workflow that I would follow because it is the most efficient use of your time.
