Color Management is way off - what's the issue?

Hi Everybody,

I tried importing an MP4 with excellent color and upon import the color is terrible, really washed out. (image attached).

I looks fine in the browser window or Quicktime, but in After Effects it looks awful. I had the same problem in Premiere and updating the display color fixed the problem, but I can't find the resolve for AE (or Photoshop).

Can somebody please tell me why this is happening or what the fix might be?

Would you check the color setting section in project settings to match the color?

File menu > Project Settings  > Color tab

Can you post a screenshot with the mp4 file selected in the Project panel?   Be sure to include the Poster Preview at the top that includes a thumbnail of the source footage with its name and settings (frame size, pixel aspect ratio, duration, audio settings and color space).
