Could you direct me to some guides? making a beam effect

I'm trying to make a beam effect like a kamehameha but a little different...

So I found videos on youtube on how to make a kamehameha but I'm trying to do something different with the particle gathering.. And I don't know what to search on youtube. If anyone could send me guides I appreciate it.

Ok. And that example give us some idea of what you need. But everything that I said still applies - you have to find a tutorila that will be close to what you need and just make particles bigger (in most cases that is just size parameter of particle effect) or learn basics to do it from scratch. It is not so easy. Your question is kind of :
I never even drove a car but I wish to build my own car. Something like a Dodge Charger but not quite. I found blueprints of Dodge but it is not exactly what I wish to build - please help.

First you have to tell us or show us what exactly you wish to do, then you have to prepare that if you are looking for something that is not standard (most popular effects like fireballs, lightsabers etc. are shown how to make them) - you probably don't find step by step tutorial how to do it. And if so you have to learn essencial basics of After Effects to figure out how to modify tutorials that you have to get result that you need. Or learn AE to the point that you will be able to built your kamehawhatever from the scratch.
