Hi,

for rigging a character its important to keep arms/hand positions exactly where I kept them in the first place. I dnt feel good when I see things  shift position after applying region of interest. Is there any way I can apply region of interest and after cropping my precomp will stay exactly where it was originally?

Thank you.

Hi there,

Could you share your workflow on how you're using Region of Interest? I'll try to replicate this on my end.

Thanks,

Ishan

Hello,

So I place my artworks before rigging exactly where I want them to be. for hand rigging in this animation, I had two separate hand positions (two photoshop layers). I put them where I want them before precomping them. I precomp those two separate photoshop layers and 'that' precomp remains exactly in the same place. then I opened the precomp. I apply region of interest, and crop them (composition- crom comp to region of interest). and this is where the comp forgets where it was originally and changes its position, And its happening to me since the bigbang. No solution I have ever found.

Thank you so much.

That is an interesting question but the answer is probably not.

When you resize a nested comp (precomp) whether using the REgion of Interest command or the dialog box it affects that comps size and position in the parent comp.

This is why I usually try to import PS and AI layers at the layer dimensions and when I precomp I try to use the "Leave All Attributes" option in the dialog. I've always had this problem with alignment when resizing nested comps after they have been positioned.

Even the add-ons I have used like CropPrecomps will move the layer a bit.

Hi,

"Leave All Attributes" doesnt work when you selct multiple layers. so its greyed out in my case always. In this case I need two hand artwork layers exactly in the same place and later I will  conncet them to a slider so that I can use them according to my need. . so when I select them both to precomp "Leave All Attributes" greyed out. I alwys import artworks as 'compostition- Retain layer sizes'. problem occurs when I precom them and they take the size of parent comp.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my query.  Thank you.

Would making the comp form one of the hands work? This should allow "Leave All Attributes" to be used and then you can cut & paste the other one into the hand comp.
