Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing amazing 🙂 I'm new to After Effects and my first project was this: I have a Video with many clips in it and on the top left corner is an object (which is always at the same place), the object is on every clip. I tried to delete the icon with the content-aware-fill, but it didn't work out for, because the programm only used one new frame for every clip.

And that unfortunately wasn't fitting with the whole video.

Is it possible to edit the icon away ?

Here you can see some clips of the video.

The icon at the top left corner should get deleted.

Thanks for every answer to this.

Have a wonderful day

Greetings

Leon 🙂

The workflow to remove that logo depends on the shot. If the camera is moving it takes a lot more work. You might have to create multiple reference frames if you use Content-Aware Fill. You might need to do some cloning. The shot with the plant behind the logo is going to take a lot more work than the other shot.

How would you rate your experience level with After Effects? Can you provide a link to the actual video or at least describe the camera movement? Fixing a 10 second shot like this could take anywhere from a couple of days to a half hour. It all depends on the shot.

Hey Rick Gerard, thank you for your quick reply 🙂

Here is the full Video. The icon is nearly all the time steady and at the same place.

Every one of the shots in the video needs to be a separate comp.

When the background is constant all you have to do is save the COMP as a Photoshop layers file using the Composition Menu, open up Photoshop, and do some cloning to create an overlay for the video that hides the logo.

For shots where things move you will have to do more re-construction. Some of them can be fixed using Content-Aware Fill if you use enough sample images. Some of them will require extensive re-construction like the shot where the mop handle moves behind the logo. You'll have to animate a new mop handle and make it look like it blends in. You can probably steal part of the handle from some other frames and just re-position it.

I don't have time to go through every scenario now. Just start with the simplest shot and see how far you get.
