effects control tab issue

when i press effects control on a new composition it is empty, cannot see any of the scale, position, rotation, masks or any of the other default effects. however when put another effect on the clip it appears but the default effects are still missing?

Hello

Position, Rotation, Scale and Opacity/Transparency are not found under Effects, but under Transform. This is why they do not appear in the Effects Control panel. This is normal.

You can access them quickly by pressing P, R, S and T when the desired layer is selected in the Timeline panel. You can also add the Shift modifier to open several of these properties at the same time
