Face Tracking a Liquify Effect

New Here ,
Jul 18, 2018 Jul 18, 2018

Hello!

I have been following Film Riot's "Create Your Own Snapchat Effects" video and I'm trying to recreate it but instead of using the Twirl effect, I want to use the Liquify effect. I have tracked the face in my footage and applied the effect to my location of choice, but when I pickwhip the Distortion Mesh Offset to my tracking point, the effect cannot be seen at all on the footage and I get an error that reads "Expression Disabled. Error at line 1 in property 'Distortion Mesh Offset' of layer 1 ('bottom') in comp 'Untitled Linked Comp 01'. Expected: ;."

This is extremely frustrating as I want this very specific effect. Any answers are appreciated, and please keep in mind, this is my first time using for this type of work. Thanks!

You probably need to pre-compose and may also need to manually fix the coordinates. Distortion effects are picky about coordinate conversion issues. And seriously, begin by naming your compositions and layers sensibly. relying on AE's/ Premiere's auto-naming is not what I consider adequate when working with expressions.
