Hey guys,
I'm very new to AE and am struggling to work out how to flip a letter vertically in place, over time. As an example, the word PeeP (I know there's a capital P at the end, that's how it's supposed to be). I want to rotate the eP at the end, in place.
Sorry for my description being so vague, I appreciate any advice you can give me.
Cheers,
Ryan
Type your text : Peep
Twirl down text layer >
Animate (button menu) > Enable Per-character 3D
Animate (button menu) > Rotation
Twirl down > Animator 1 > Range Selector 1 > Advanced. Set units to index.Twirl Advanced section closed.
Set the start property to 2
Set the end property to 4
You can then animate (keyframe) the Range Selector 1 > X Rotation property over time.

I would put eP on its own layer. Twirl open the layer in the timeline. Click the white button by animate and select enable per character 3D.
The go to the add button and add rotations.
you could then keyframe the center number in rotation (y rotation) under the animator.

I agree with Rob. A text animator limited to the two letters would do the trick. Otherwise create the two parts as separate layers and set one to be 3D, adjusting its anchor point and rotating it.

Hey Mike,
I used your method to lead me and I'm very happy to say that it worked.
Thank you and the others for the support you provided.
Cheers
Ryan
