'Hand Drawn' Animation Style

Hello there, 

I was wondering how to create a sort of hand-drawn animation style in After Effects (and if After effects is even the right program for that).

I have tried looking at tutorials of course, but they often show you how to do simple lines, while I am looking for more complex shapes.

Hi! Your tutorial search has largely lead you in the correct direction. After Effects paint tool (and a few different scripts) can be great for simple hand drawn animation. The Paramore video, at least as much as I watched, could be done in AE with those tools. But Adobe Animate is really going to be the tool you are looking for. It's much more suited to this look.
