Help with adding effects to 3D tracked text

So I've already used the track camera feature to add text into a scene so that it looks like the text is part of the environment and moves with the camera. Now I want to add an effect like saber to that text. Can someone help me with that?

Nothing specific here. You would pre-compose the text to its own compositin and apply the effect on top of it, which depending on the situation could work better as a 2D setup or in 3D.

One more thing. When I pre-composed the text, it took it off of the motion tracker. It no longer moves with the scene. How do i make the text move with the scene?

on comp. of the text you have to make it 3D and hit the * to overwrite the effect- rules from the composition itself.

and, check out wht happen when you tunr the camera off/eyes off. greetz
