Hotkey for "Fit window size"? (after effects)

Explorer ,
Feb 15, 2021 Feb 15, 2021

Hello,

I did not find the current hotkey, to fit the preview image to the window size.

It's either to big or too small and I have to use the menu.

CTR+ALT+F or CTRL+ALT+H has it maybe been once, from what I googled, but it's not working anymore.

Thanks for help

I think they simply removed it because basically nobody was using it. At least I never did because a heavily aliased preview at a crooked zoom levels is essentially useless for judging the quality of your work. Zooming with the keys to the predefined levvels and having resolution on Auto is straightforward enough, after all...

That would be sad - and I see no reason to remove also the ABILITY to assign a hotkey.

I use it and I'm used to it to judge in many cases about movements (not about pixel quality)

Now I have all the time to use this tiny dropdown button.

Hi Bene12,

Thanks for reaching out.

Try "Shift + /" to Fit and "Alt + /" for Fit up to 100%.

Let us know if this is not what you're looking for.

Thanks,
Nishu

Thanks, I tried "Shift + /"  to fit to window size, but it only toggles only the color management of the picture on and off.

"<"  works to fit 100%

(I have also noted this hotkey two years ago.)

I looked once again through all the keyboard shortcuts list. I really can't find it.

I'm using the German After Effects version - maybe a bug in this version?

Maybe the shortcut is different in German, because in my current US English version, Shift + / still works to fit the frame size to the comp window.

So it's the question, how to get to know the German hotkey? It was there once a hotkey...

(Otherwise if there isn't anymore, it's a bug to report.)

Thanks

I will check out next time

Shift + <
(I found a German hotkey list and it's not a very clear description there, but maybe they mean "fit window size")
