I'm trying to mimic the dynamic scribbles found in this music video:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0p_1QSUsbsM
is there an effect that might be used to create something similar? the scribbles start at around 55 seconds in and act as reveals for each band member. I love this effect a lot and want to try it. Is animating tiny brush strokes frame by frame the only way? can some kind of emitter be used; and if so, is it possible to emit from a point far into z space and shoot out to the foreground?
thank you!!
Simply duplicate the layer, apply a Hue/ Saturation effect or invert effect, then "cut" from layer to layer in a rapid fashion. I wouldn't bother with creating tons of keyframes, though of course that could be used, too.

You could re-create something similar using a bunch of crude particle effects with a very low number of particles, the Lightning effect set to equally crude values with very few subdivisions, a bunch of random strokes. In fact even they are cheating here. half the "magic" is just random flickering of a hue shift or color inversion. It's really not that complicated, just not a single effect.

Thank you Mylenium! I will try crude particles and lightning. As for the hue shift or inversion and flickering, can you explain that a bit more? I've been experimenting with strobing to get random flashes of light in conjunction with scribbles, but I think that's an entirely different thing than what you mentioned.
Thanks again for you help!
