How many GPU must be use After Effects

The task was to process video as quickly as possible in Adobe After Effects, for these purposes a VPS / VDS will be rented and which GPU is better to include in its configuration, will After Effects be able to use 8 GPUs (GTX 1080). As far as I know, the 8 GPU limit is a Windows driver limitation. Or is it better to use one Tesla v100? And how many GPUs can After Effects use without any problems?

Hi,

You need to be more specific. What video processing are you referring to? Very few standard effects are GPU-based. Some plugins offer GPU-acceleration, but not all. And if a plugin is not coded for the GPU, you can't force it to use it.

Why would you want to use 8 GPU's in AE?

There are only a handful of effects that use the GPU for rendering so its a waste of money adding more GPU's

If you have a large budget and the project is big budget I would build a few render nodes and have a render farm for this sort of work.

If its a smaller project more RAM will help you with speed.
