Based on an Illustrator file I have made an animation in AE.
This comp will be plased on topp of a video in AE.

One the first photo you can se the comp on topp of the video.
One the second the Illustrator file. There you can see I have made a semi transparent layer, I want to use as background.

I want to have the background transparant in the ae cop, instead of black. How to?

Well, then clearly your AI files are not prepped suitably. You need to fix your issue there. Since you haven't provided any specific info on the nature of your files it's not really possible to advise, though it seems to me that you simply placed some pixel images in AI. If you re-traced them already, maybe you forgot to expand the appearance and remove the pixel sources that block the view. in any case, without knowing about your procedures al lthis is just guessing around wildly.

I found my mistake! I had made a MOV of the animation,- and that had of cause black background 😛

I'm not clear what you are having issues with. By definition all comps in AE have a transparent background to start with, which can be verified by enabling the checkerboard in the comp viewer. Conversely, AI files imported into AE retain the transparency of the objects. all that being the case, you are probably simply messing up things by using wrong import options and render settings. Impossible to know without more specific info.

In AE I simply import a Ai file. - right clicking in the sourse panel and cmd + I.
Is there another/better way?

Shal I import the AI file in a special way?
