Hi,
Sorry for the poor experience. Could you click the "View Report" button and share the report here? Crash reports for After Effects 2025 can be found here: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\Adobe\After Effects\25.0\SentryIO-db\reports. If you're using an older version, please share the exact version of the app. Please also share what type of source files and effects you're working with.
Thanks,
Ishan

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. The engineering team found out that a module belonging to NVIDIA Smooth Motion is causing the issue. If you have the NVIDIA app installed, please uninstall it. Then, right-click on Desktop, go to NVIDIA Control Panel, and click the "Restore Defaults" button for all 3D settings and Video settings.

Hi Sherif, really sorry for the crash while you're creating a new project.
1. Try launching in Safe Mode. Here's a YouTube tutorial on how to do that.
2. Right-click After Effects and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the app. Does it allow you to create a new project?
3. Find an .AEP project file on your computer. Double-click the project file to launch After Effects. Will it open?
4. If you are in a rush, try installing a previous version while we investigate this.
I just sent the .DMP file you shared to our product team for investigation. We hope this helps.
Caroline
