Hey, I have a problem with the animate button we're supposed to click when we want to animate text. I don't have it anymore, when I click the arrow to show me all of the text's layer details the animate button isn't there. I didn't have this problem with my previous projects. I still can animate using the "animation" from the main top bar then "animate text" but it's very annoying to always do that instead of having the animate button. Any idea on how to get it back?

If you are talking about the stopwatch that enables setting keyframes, they are under the Twirley > in the Layer Name/Source Name column.
If resetting your workspace and enabling the appropriate columns in the Timeline, reset your preferences by holding down Shift + Alt/Option + Ctrl/Cmnd when you launch AE. If that fails, open the Creative Cloud app, go to the All Apps page, click on the three dots to the right of the Open button for After Effects, choose the Other Versions option, and roll back AE one build.
One of those workflows should solve your problem.

Heyy thanks a lot for your answer, I'll try your recommendations tomorrow, but before that, I want to be sure that we are talking about the same button that I am missing, that way I can be sure that we are on the same page before applying your advice. So i'll attach a photo and tell me if this is what you thought I talked about and If it changes at all the recommandations that you gave me.
it's the button "animate" inside the rectangle that I don't have anymore.

You must have the Switches or the Modes columns available to find the Text/Animatie options. You can easily open them by clicking on the Column icons at the bottom left corner of the timeline. The first icon looks like two overlapping squares and opens or closes the Switches column. The second one looks like overlapping circles and will open or close the Transfer Controls or Modes column. When I am editing keyframes and compositing, I usually have both open.
The Parent link column does not have an icon, but Shift + F4 will open or close that one. I have that one open when I am writing expressions, or I want to link layers with Parenting.
Learning to navigate the UI and reveal its features is critical to working efficiently. Explore all of the buttons and columns.
