Laptop shuts down whilst rendering

New Here ,
Aug 28, 2018 Aug 28, 2018

This is my problem, I will be rendering an edit in after effects or media encoder & after rendering about 5 secs of the edit it will turn off either to restart so I have to login on my laptop again or shut down for a moment then come back to after effects but my video preview has gone white, is stuck at the render point & will not let me off after effects unless I turn my laptop off.

I have been using after effects for a few years, this render issue started yesterday but I honestly don't know what caused.

My laptop is windows hp, let me know what other info I should provide as i'm not sure what to share.

I have purged memory, deleted old auto saves as that was all I could think of.

I am not an experienced editor, I don't really know anything but I'll provide as much info as I can for help with my problem to be solved, I am grateful for any help.

It could be a heat issue.

Is the fan running?

Is the vent restricted with dust?

It could also be a video driver issue.

Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.

It could also be a failing hard drive or RAM.
