Hi. I am a beginner in After Effects. I want to create a linear slide video transition with horizontal rectagular bars somewhat like the preset under 'Effect > Transition > CC Line Sweep' but more customized. So the bars should slide 1 following the next and the 2nd video should get revealed eventually as the bars vanishes at the right or left. That means, as the 1st top bar slides away in the 1st video, only that part of the 2nd video should be visible. With the 2nd bar sliding, the corresponding part of 2nd video should be visible and so on. How to achieve this?

That's probably a completely different effect found in a third-party plug-in suite like Sapphire or BorisFX if I understand you correctly. If you don't have any of that, you would have to re-create it by hand by slicing up duplicates of the layers and animating their position. Perfectly doable, just a lot more work and of course you would have to run this laborious process for every single instance when you want to use such an effect.

That's what I thought. So I have created the slices and animated their positions. But how to reveal the 2nd footage as the slices slides by and make that part of the 2nd clip stay there? Right now it's just showing the 2nd video slice on the bar as it slides but the 1st video is running beneath. So it's not the reveal effect but just that piece of 2nd clip sliding with the bars and vanishing with it while the 1st video keeps running below. Hope I am making some sense. Attaching screenshots. Thanks for your reply. Appreciate it.

More slicing and masking, apparently, applied to the B footage.
