Welcome to the March edition of our community recap. Let's start with my favorite part of this post — the Community Highlight — where we feature one of our community gems every month. This month, our community champion is Roland Kahlenberg. An Adobe Community Professional (ACP) for many years, Roland has been sensational in helping users in our community. He is a regular in the After Effects community with over 2000 posts. His time and expertise are highly appreciated!
Roland has lectured on Adobe After Effects and all aspects of Video Production at undergraduate and post-graduate levels – not bad for a graduate in Economics, from the University of Toronto.
These days, Roland spends his time working on projects for multi-nation brands, government statutory boards and for Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro users, he develops creative tools and intelligent MoGRT templates. Roland’s focus now is on developing full-featured, intelligent content-aware Motion Graphics Templates for bespoke Brands.
Roland is one of a few individuals certified in both Adobe After Effects and BorisFX MochaPro. Mixing Motion Design with Graphics, Visual Effects, and music make perfect sense for a multi-disciplinarian such as Roland.

Top three troubleshooting topics from March:
1. Green frames in After Effects 18.0
Some of our users reported that H.264 (MP4) files imported in After Effects 18.0 have green frames. We're investigating the issue. Meanwhile, here is the workaround:
- Go to Preferences > Import
- Deselect "Enable hardware-accelerated decoding" under Video Footage
- Then go to Preferences > Media & Disk Cache
- Click "Empty Disk Cache" and "Clean Database & Cache"
- Relaunch After Effects and import the files again
2. Dynamic link between After Effects and Media Encoder is unreliable
Some users are unable to send their compositions to Media Encoder after updating to After Effects 18.0. Go through the steps given in this article and follow the next steps: How to fix dynamic link between After Effects and Media Encoder
3. Users can no longer see the 1, 2, 4-View option in the Composition Window
There is a known bug in After Effects 18.0 where users are unable to change views as the Select view Layout dropdown doesn't appear in 2D comps. This will be fixed in an upcoming release. The workaround is to add a 3D layer to the comp.
