I am screen recording on my mac with the Quicktime Player. When I review the video, the quality is great, but when I transfer the video onto adobe after effects, the video is extremely blurry and the quality sucks. What did I do wrong?

It could be a lot of things, and I will probably need to see a screen shot of your project. After you imported your screen recording, how did you drop it into your composition? Do your composition settings match your video settings?

It might be just a matter of moving it a pixel or half-pixel horizontally or vertically.

It occurs to me that you try setting the view to 100% and the resolution in Full to see what happens.

It’s probably your Resolution setting (as shown in Byron’s screen shot), but also double-check that you have Frame Blending off. If it’s set to Pixel Motion, it’s probably going to look smudgy.

When I was wondering why my clip was blurry in fcp x I changed my fcp x settings to better quality from previously setting of better performance and it cleared it up. Whike editing better performance seems to be better for me but always exports in quality. Maybe it's a setting and your export will be fine. Just a guess.
