Opening project in after effects goes very slow

Everytime when I open a project in After Effects it takes very long to open it. Sometimes it will take up to an hour to open a project. When I create a new project I will open immediatly but when it is a project I already made it will take that long to open

Without any specific info about your computer, your project contents, your storage setup and so on we realyl can't tel lyou anything. From genuine hardware issues with your drives to AE just taking forever to validate its caches or whatever this could be anything. You need to be much more specific and provide the necessary info.

Long time in opening a project can happen for many reasons so without more information about the project you try to open we can guess what happens, a quick solution be sure your project are saved in you fastest drive you have (SSD drive if you have one) because that can happen specially if your projects are heavy and saved in some slow external drive

I work on an iMac with 3,6 GHz 10-Core Inter Core i9 and videocart: AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16 GB. My project is saved on a fast workng external SSD

Hello, I have the same problem.

Received one time an error message, it was about some 3rd party plugins. Start in Safe Mode after forcely stopping AE, disable all plugins. Worked for me.
