Opening Prores file shot with new iphone 15 has a color shift issue. How can I fix this?

I am having trouble with prores videos that I shot with the new iphone 15. When I open up the video file in after effects, it loses all of the magenta color and looks extremely washed out. When I open it in Quicktime, the video looks perfectly fine. I never used to have colour shifts like this with prores files on the previous iphone versions. Would anyone know how to correct this issue?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hey mmoni_carlo,

Sorry for the issue. Could you go to File > Project Settings > Color and share a screenshot of that window? Were the previous prores files imported to After Effects shot in an HDR color space? Please also let us know your current After Effects version (Help > About After Effects).

Thanks,

Ishan

I've done some research, and it looks as though the videos were shot in prores RAW.. Is there any way to convert the footage back to prores so that I can retain the look of colors like they are when viewing the footage on my iphone? I will share a screen shot later when I get home from work.

There is an ongoing, barely acknowledged ProRes gamma shift bug in After Effects that can be solved by going into preferences, choosing import and unchecking "Enable hardware accelerated decoding (requires restart)". It may or may not solve your problem but worth a try.
