outside composition area

Hello.

In  AI we can put elements outside the artboard. is there any way I can do that in AE? like I can put elements which I will incorporate in composition later in grey are? outside composition?

Sure you can. In AE 2022 you now even see a ghosted version of the content, not just a bounding box.
