every time I parent a two-node camera to a null, the camera angle appears to shift. Is this normal in After Effects CC 2021?

Hi windowsexpert,

Thank you for your help. I'm running the very latest version of After Effects CC (2021) on my 2012 iMac (32GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive) with OS Catalina.

Hi,

I have the exact same problem. The camera has no tracking data, all parameters of Null object and Camera are on initial state, as soon as I parent cam to null, it does what the pictures of @Angelic_life5EEF above show.

My specs:

Have you found any solution yet?

Parenting cams is quite an essential feature, even more when you have a deadline approaching...

I never use 2 nodes camera with parented nulls, actually, I don't use 2 nodes cameras at all. Parenting a one-node camera to a null is a much more efficient workflow.

Hi Pixel,

Apparently there is no solution yet nor any confirmation that problem is not simply user error.

Since you claim your issue is exactly what ninose11 shared in their pics then I suggest doing

what i suggested in my other response to ninose11 to confirm if there actually an issue with the camera.

And if you have a deadline approaching then obviously you either need to revert back to a previous

version or use a single node camera until a solution is found.

Deadlines are deadlines and you cannot count on someone giving you a solution or Adobe to fix anything.  You have to adapt.

Hi ninose11,

Sorry but the images you provided are NOT from the latest version of AE 2021.   Regardless, I also cannot reproduce the issue on Windows but it seems someone else is having the same issue on catalina.

I notice while the camera icon in the preview is shifting, it appears the angle of view is NOT.

You should put something in your scene to see if the camera is actually shifting or it's just some glitch in the graphical representation.

And maybe try and actually updating AE to latest version.
