Does anyone know If this is possible with trapcode particular. I know I can set walls and floors but i'm restricted to using solids so I'm not too sure how to fill a figure 8 with multiple curved walls? If someone can explain how the video in this link was created I would really appreciate it!

Clearly the animation was created using a 2D physics plug-in like Newton, not a particle system. Otherwise this would require a completely different approach with actual 3D geometry and inter-particle collisions, but that's another story entirely...

Sorry, bad example. I should have mentioned same idea but in 3D. So is newton just for 2D? if I wanted to create something similar to this in 3D is this possible within AE?

Yes. Just 2D.

Yes and no. You could give the Stardust plug-in a try, but even so, you still need to create the collision geometry somehow to import it into the plug-in, so you might just as well do it in a full 3D program. Not going to be a cakewalk, though. Such stuff is finicky and requires lots of tweaking.

I'd make it in Cinema 4D.

I thought that might be the case, I was hoping there was a way to utilise particular some how so I can do it within AE directly. I'm incredibly unfamiliar with Cinema 4D.
Thanks for the reply

Best to use C4D or Newton on this.
