Path Problem - Extruded

Enthusiast ,

I've created several paths based on the letters of a logo, which I've extruded. Everything is great, but I want to take the pre-composed extruded letters as a group and 'fly' through them (similar to flying through a canyon') but when I try to manipulate the xyz axis on the full composition, it rotates it like it was a flat image being rotated (it doesn't change the 3D). If I rotate each path 'letter' individually on their xyz axis in the precomposed group, it's okay, but not in the main composition...Comp_issue.png

Try enabling "Collapse Transformations." It's the second icon in your switches - little "sun" icon between the shy guy and the slanted line.

Aww jeez, I thought that icon was only to keep vectors 'crisp'... I didn't realize the effect it'd have on the contained pre-comp - Thanks so much Kyle!!

Yep - it's got a second, less-advertised job when working with precomps. It can be insanely helpful, but also confusing sometimes. Effects, blending modes, etc. all come through here as well as 3d - you just have to make sure that's what you're intending!
