Hello.
A friend has sent me an AE graphics file, but my AE won't open it (as its a different version), but I need the layers exporting as photoshop layers. Is there someone I can email the file and they'll kindly send back it as photoshop format?
Thank you so much!
P

I'm not sure you understand the process. The file is useless without the original media files. If the AEP/Comp only has shape layers, solids, and text layers then you can successfully export a layered PSD file but none of the vector graphics will be editable as vector graphics. If the layers are animated then you'll get completely different PSD files at every point in the timeline.
A better option would be to save the AEP file as a previous version. Your friend can do that using the Save As feature. You'll have to know what version the original file is and what version of AE you have access to.

He is on holiday so can't re-save unfortunately. He provided me with a Zip folder of all the elements...
