Need help with points follow nulls.
What I've done so far:
1.) Create a shape and turn the path into bezier points.

2.) Selected the new path and toggled points follow nulls.

Instead of the nulls appearing in its own layers, they appear in the effects tab instead. Managed to do it correctly before with the nulls showing up, but I don't really understand how it might be appearing in the effects tab instead.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I think what you're seeing with the Layer controls is normal -- those get added and point to the Null layers created by the script and are used by the path expression. What's strange though is that you'd expect the Null layers to show up above the shape layer in the layer stack when you run the script. It's also strange that you have the Hide Shy Layers toggle for the comp turned on. It would interesting to see what (if anything) shows up when you turn that off. Is it possible you've run the script more than once on that shape layer? Or you have more than one layer named Shape Layer 1?

Yep, the hide shy layers was on and I forgot to turn it off. I rarely used it and was following a tutorial online late at night so it flew over my head😅

So after turning it on, the null layers show up beneath the shape layer and this is what I have so far. I've attached the image in this thread. To be honest, I really only expected the null layers to be above as that has been the consistent outcome so far. Of course if that isnt the case, then I will be happy to learn as well. I've run the script once on that sole shape layer, but I also figured that I could just rearrange the null points back to it's original rectangular shape.

Thanks for the help so far! In hindsight, a bit of a silly question but I appreciate the response regardless. ðŸ˜Š
