Possible to add a new vertex point after creating nulls from path?

I have a shape that I'm animating using nulls (generated with "create nulls from paths"). I've done a bit of work on the animation already, and I realized I need to add a new vertex to the shape.

Unfortunately, the add vertex tool doesn't seem to be doing anything anymore. Is it impossible to create a new vertex?

Thanks.

You just have to delete the existing ones and start over. The other option would be to start a new comp, copy the path to a layer in the new comp, run the script again, then copy and paste the new null to the original comp. I have not tried it, but it is the only workaround I can think of that makes any sense.

It's unfortunately a limitation of how this works. The path realyl gets rebuilt and recalculated, not just the anchor point transforms modified. You can try to disable the expressions, add another Null and point and re-enable the modified expressions, of course. Otherwise, if you realyl do this a lot I would still recommend investing in the Plexus or BAO Masked Avenger plug-ins, which are far more intuitive and reliable for these kinds of workflows.
