Project Converting to Latest Version - Gets Stuck

Hi Everyone. So I'm opening a project from last year and I get "...project must be converted from 13.7.2...". I hit ok as I always have and it usually saves a new version and all is well. Now, however, it gets stuck on "Open Project" and I have to force quit (mac) the application after it freezes. I see on my computer that a new project file was saved (/Example_1), but if I click that it's an empty project. Anyone?

Got the old AE version?  Open up the problem project file -- see if it's okay.  If it is, save it under a couple of different names, and try opening them in the new version.

Well, I'm happy to see that I can still use the file today, but it still doesn't open in AE18 no matter how many saves I do. Thank you though, you've at least kept my project on time!

I am having this same issue. Project gets stuck on the 'Open Project' window at 0% and never loads. After Effects is the latest version and I don't have the older version of AE to open it in. I have successfully opened other older project files with no problem. Any ideas?

After Effects CC 2020 on MacOS Catalina.

I found a solution that seems to be working. Adobe allows you to download the previous version of certain apps, so I downloaded AE CC 2019. The project opened just fine in this version, and then I simply saved it and then opened that file in AE CC 2020. Perhaps there is a bug or something with that latest version, who knows.
