Project pane image thumbnails instead of list... how?

How can I set the Project pane contents to show thumbnails (like in Bridge) instead of list?

It is incredibly mind numbingly insane that AE doesn't support thumbnails. How on earth is that possible. Every other app including Adobe ones have offered this since the dawn of time.
