Hello everyone,
When I open my project in AE, I get the following error: "The Photoshop Library failed to load because the device has no free space" and then another saying "The Photoshop Library operation failed", which I can't close (every time I click on OK, it disppears and reappears). This is a project on which I have been working for several months and is quite large, and once it is open, no more error messages appear.
The only thing I can to open the project is to restart my Mac.
What could be causing this? Is this a RAM issue? I don't know which device AE is referring to, since I have several scratch disks, and every one has enough free space.
I have a MacBook Pro with MacOSX 10.15.7 and 16GB RAM, with AE CC 18 installed.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Mikołaj

Hello Nishu,
Thanks a lot for your answer. It seems this is a Photoshop-related issue... I'll try purging the Photoshop cache - which I indeed don't do very often 🙂

Well, it didn't work. I still get plagued by this issue from time to time. Sometimes I am able to open my project, sometimes not. Sometimes I have 16 GB of free space on my computer and many open apps, and it still manages to open and work - sometimes it keeps telling me "the device has no free space", even though I have twice as much free space and no other app running. I purge the PS cache on a regular basis. I also purge the AE Memory & Disk Cache. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. So far I have no idea what is happening.
I have several scratch disks attached to my computer - each one with more than 750 GB free space. My Mac itself has currently 35 GB free space - not enormous, but last time I managed to open AE, it was enough (and I haven't added anything to the project since). So what is this "device" which AE is referring to?
Please help me - this is a project which is almost finished, only some small corrections needed to be done, and suddenly it won't open at all.
Thanks in advance,
Mikołaj

Just for the record - this is what it looks like when I try to open it.

Hey, did you find a way to fix this yet? I'm having the same issue as well 😞

Disappointing that Adobe once more will not give solutions on existing problems or help users asking questions when it turns out Adobe's propositions don't work.
