"Turbulent Displace" effect beginners problem..

Jan 22, 2023 Jan 22, 2023

Hi,

Why does Turbulent Displace effect (I imagine any effect in general) seem tied to the screen frame area, and not to the shape it is assigned to? Sample attached.

No matter how I resize the shape, the turbulent displacement always starts morphing back into the simple line, while I need it to continue displacing itself past the screen.

Excuse the noob question!

Thanks,

Thast's just how effects work - they are tied to the layer boundaries. If you need it bigger, you have to pre-compose to a larger comp and use that as your layer.
