Removing an electrical outlet from background

New Here ,
Nov 02, 2017 Nov 02, 2017

Hello! I am quite new to After Effects and was wondering if someone could assist me. I am trying to remove this black electrical outlet from the background. Is there a better method than creating an image mask and arduously moving it frame by frame? Her hands pass over it too, which makes it harder to use the clone stamp. What would be the best way to go about removing this?screen for forum.jpg

If it is a tripod shot you just need to make a clean plate in Photoshop (you can do this in AE too but make sure to freeze frame the result). Then place that over the whole video. Use rotobrush on the places where her arm crosses in front of it. Make sure to use refine edge tool. Boom, electric outlet is gone.
