Rescale/move full path tracking ¿?

New Here ,

Hi, in a project I had made a shape/line and I animated it changing by keyframes the % of the ending position of the line. So it looks like a growing line. Also, I needed it in bigger size, so I scaled it to over 200%.

Here is the thing, I need to add an object what will follow this shape as path.

So I copied the shape/line and pasted it in the position of the object. So now this object follows this path, BUT in his size of 100%. There is any way I can make also bigger the size of that shape/line when I use it as a path?

Or even better, there is any way I could use the keyframes of the animation of the end of the line?

Because this line needs to grow following this object. I have the line growing already, can I somehow already use this as a path for this object?

Thank very much for your answers, and sorry if wasn't clear my question. Greetings!

Yeah that's a frustating problem.

Here's one solution though: Dropbox - Example.aep

Steps:

You have to copy paste the path into your object position.

Put the first keyframe at time 0 and the last one at time 1. Leave them in linear interpolation.

Precompose your object.

Enable time-remapping on your precomposed comp and link your Time-remapping property value to your trim path value divided by 100.

Sounds complicated but it's not. Just download the file and have a look.

Could it be a working solution

Create a Null. Put the object inside the Null and scale the Null to 200%.

You have let's say 2 keyframes in the 'line growing' and 2 keyframes in the position of the object. You need to make both animation start and finish at the same time AND you have to make sure their keyframes have the same easing (in the graph editor you have to match their speed graph curves. You can rightclick on a keyframe and select 'keyframe velocity' to reveal its easing speed and influence. There's also a very handy plugin that copy paste the easing curve: EaseCopy - aescripts + aeplugins - aescripts.com ).

Hi, thanks for your answer. About the line the problem in this case, it doesn't have just 2 keyframes, because I needed it with different speeds, there are some parts where goes faster and others slower almost stopping. How can I make those rithm changes in the object what folllows the path?

I might be misunderstanding what you're trying to do, but you might see if either of these tools would be helfpul for what you're trying to pull off.
