Roto Brush 2 Model Fails to Initialize

Community Beginner ,

Hello all,

Suffering after buying a new Mac Studio M1 Ultra 'base model'

Fresh install of Mac OS and AE

Working with 8k Prores HQ File, attempting rotobrush 2 process that I have run before on my M1 Max Macbook Pro just as a test. Can't help but get an error:

"After Effects error: Initializing the Roto Brush 2 models failed. Please change Version to 1.0 (Classic) to continue Roto Brush frame propagation."

I'm going to try and roll back to 23.2 or 23.1 and see if that works. But if anyone has any other ideas I'd love to hear em...

Hi @RADRyno,

The error message is not a bug, but a temporary fix while we work with Apple to get Roto Brush 2 supported on macOS 13.2 and higher. If you roll back to AE 23.2 or earlier, you will instead encounter a crash when trying to use RB2, so I would not recommend that. The best thread to track this issue is here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-bugs/after-effect-crashes-mac-os-ventura-rotobrush/idi-... Once a full fix is available, we will be updating the status of that thread to Fixed.

Cheers,
