Roto Brush tool doesn't work

Hello all,

I have the latest versions of all CC apps. I was working on a video in Premiere and wanted to have an effect where I can have text go behind some buildings. I hit replace with composition in AE as I had just watched a tutorial showing me how to do the effect I wanted. When I try to use the roto brush tool in AE it doesn't let me use the brush continuously...like I just click and I see a dot...I can't actually paint with the brush around the outlines I want. I just see a dot and it lets me undo the stroke. Can someone please help with this?

This is a known bug in the latest AE update, version 15.1.0.

Revert to the previous update, version 15.0.1.

That's annoying. Does that mean I have to revert my Premiere to an older version too...don't the versions have to be the same for dynamic link to work?

Yup!  It's a complete reinstall of the Creative Cloud applications.

Great, now I can't access the project I created because it was done in the newest version of Premiere. Is there a patch/update coming soon to fix this problem w/ the rotobrush?

You can backsave the project to an earlier version.  Go File>Save As and pick it out.
