I'll try provide further information if I can when asked, however I don't have much to go off. I've enabled logging and will include the most recent crash section below, however it does not consistently end with this message.
I do not have any plugins installed, and the issue persists safe mode / with reset preferences. I have zero issues with Premiere, Audition, Media Encoder etc, and only AE is having issues.
The only time it manages to not crash is when it is not the program in focus/it is minimized, which isn't much help.
The issue was never this bad previously (I started with AE only 4-5ish months ago, issue has been rampant for about the last week), as it would only crash when under high load/trying to work on comps with many layered effects. However this would be infrequent enough that I didn't have much issue beyond slight annoyance

When it crashes:
The only constant is that it appears to be when AE is the program in focus. Otherwise, it has crashed;
- Whilst working on a project for at most 5 minutes, normally crashing beforehand
- Immediately upon opening the program (not even selecting a project) after a crash
- Upon pausing playback in an existing project or rarely when moving the playhead
- In an empty project when I was attempting to start from scratch, and was just setting up a folder structure before moving in any assets
Things I have tried (probably not an exhaustive list as I may forget something):
- Downgrading AE version (am currently attempting 25.3.0) / NVIDIA drivers
- Updating NVIDIA drivers (currently on 581.29)
- Many combinations of Safe mode, resetting preferences, hardware acceleration being on/off, enabling/disabling multi-threaded rendering
- Attempted to restart the project from scratch but the program crashed even before any assets were imported, I only managed to create some folders to prepare
- Completely uninstalling all Adobe-related programs + CC using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, and re-installing them from scratch
- Purging Memory + disk cache (which I'm not sure if it's expected, but the disk cache builds up VERY fast - especially considering that after resetting the cache last night and trying to troubleshoot/work on anything, it's already built back up to 113GB/100GB? Sorry if that's nothing important, I just want to mention what I can. But from what I believe of the project I'm working on, I do not have any idea how it could possibly grow that fast)
As for the current project, it does import photoshop layers in 2D comps and seperately use the 3D renderer for . I've attempted both classic/advanced with and without draft mode to no luck.
I can only assume it's some compatibility issue now, but I'm just stuck and would appreciate any ideas on what I could look into!
