Should Premiere be learned before learning After Effects?

I am training myself in Premiere and After Effects. Is it logical to learn Adobe Premiere FIRST, and then take up Adobe After Effects?

Hi. It depends on what you are going to be doing the most of, the two programs are meant for very different things. If you are going to be mainly editing footage, doing basic text/credits and transitions/effects then Premiere first. If you are interested mainly in Motion Graphics/Compositing/Special Effects then After Effects first. If you are unsure then I would start with Premiere as it's an infinately easier program to learn and, if you are new to Adobe products, it will help you get into the Adobe way of going about things (which is often quite quirky). After Effects is a very complex and challenging program and is a steep learning curve.
