Still need to shade and clean up lines but heres better idea of start tubeStill need to shade and clean up lines but heres better idea of start tubeSo I'm working on a reveal for a logo. Its for a glass blowing studio. What I'm trying to do in the simplest way put is to take two lines parallel to eachother (will be a glass tube) and right in the center i want the two lines to expand into what would be a bubble or sphere which will end up bursting revealing the logo. I got the burst down etc I'm just not sure how to go about animating the expand. The tube will be spinning on a lathe while all this happens in animation. Please someone help me out here I've searched high and low on the net looking for something to point me that direction and have came up empty handed. Thanks a million in advance!! I attached simple image of how it will start up to right before the burst.Untitled-1.png

Probably the first thing for you to look at is animating the 'Bulge' Effect. Find it in the Effects menu.

Your simplified image might be misleading me, but if you only have lines, you can create both states in AI, import them as individual layers, coinvert them into shape layers and copy the path of the 2nd shape layer to the path of the first one. Set keyframes before. This should morph from straight lines to curves ones.

There are also bend - warp - disort - effects which might be useful and worth a check.

its not actually just lines im just finishing up on a more realistic glass tube that way come the burst it doesn't look more real or fake than the other. I was thinking i could use anchor points with key frames to get my desired effect yes no? Say set the anchor points to size with key frame? I doubted that method as i see it just snapping to size rather than expand to size is that a correct assumption?
