Suggested method to create effect

Just looking for some ideas on how to do this. It's a gag video where it shows a pilot light switch light up when it's uninstalled. I tried using tracker and then I made an isolation image transparent of the switched, brightened it, and then attached it to the tracker. It was OK but want more realism. Also, the hand goes up to turn off and on the switch, which it makes it more complex. See snapshots below.

Any help and suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

I just wanted to close this thread out. I ended up making it in Premiere and didn't turn out too bad. Not Hollywood great but not horrible either

If anyone would like to know how I did it, let me know. It tricked four people in my family but my son-in-law had to watch it over and over to realize it was fake LOL.

You probably need to create a matte for the switch. Mocha AE is probably going to be the best tool to animate the matte. Then you use that matte and the tracking info you get from Mocha to position your glow, make it bleed onto the fingers, and add some realism to the switch lighting up when it is turned on.

I'm guessing maybe six total layers. One for the lighted switch, one for the glow on the fingers, the original footage (on the bottom), a copy of the original footage using a blurred version of the matte to give you a glow for the fingers, a copy of just the fingers masked in Mocha AE to overlay above the switch when it lights up, and an adjustment layer to color correct all of the layers below. You can't do it with one or two layers.

Mocha AE Training will give you all the tools you need to create the roto, do the tracking, and setup the effects.
