Text layer malfunctions on adding second element to the comp AE CC 2019

Hi guys,

Anyone has this strange and annoying text bug?

I have a composition which has: 1 text layer

Now when I paste in another element (a .psd, a .mov, whatever) the appearance of the text moves upwards to the screen (to the top of the added layer?)

Check:

I already experience this bug for 1 year now and wonder what it is, why it is, ...?

Lots of crashes also when changing properties of an already existing text layer. Something tod o with certain fonts? ftt / otf?

Any tips on this one?

I have came across a similar report of a bug and eventually only reinstalling Ae fixed it. if you are absolutly sure there is no effect or expression applied to the offset layer, then I would try that.

Thanks Roei, this seems to be the same issue indeed...

That's a pity, doing a reinstallation. I reinstalled 3 months ago (for other reasons - upgrading my ssd) but at this time it didn't resolve the issue. Time toggle it another try I guess... really a pain!

This issue is caused by corrupted AE Preferences file(s). THe only sure way to resolve this issue is by trashing AE's Prefs. Uninstalling/Reinstalling; depending on how it's done may still retain previous version/old AE Prefs.
