TEXT NOT SHOWING UP

Hi

A strange and bizarre issue. Text tool doesn't show any text after i type!!! Nothing.

I can see the text layer and my alphabets in the layers on the timeline.

Never encountered this problem before.

Suddenly started over the last few days. I am running the latest updated After Effects.

Please help!! I have to create still images in Photoshop and bring them in!

In the text layer's Character Panel, do a reset.  There are probably some very strange values in it.

Meanwhile I opened an older project and imported it in, seems to work.

Let me try resetting on the layer. Hopefully it solves it.

I just finished a project and went to start a new project and the text did not appear. I had to paste text from another project. The issue is new it never happened to me before. Any suggestions to fix the issue other than contacting adobe?

Reset didn't work, I can see the text and it is definately text but I cant edit it. AE 2022. This is a basic requirement, there are some poor issues with AE and they're becoming more common. 😞

March 2023 - reset did not solve the issue. I type a text layer above all the other layers, and I see nothing, but if I copy an existing text layer I can use that to create new text. This just started happening today, last week I had no issues when I opened the same file. I've had nothing but issues with Adobe products all week long - has something changed recently across the board? Because Photoshop, Illustrator AND After Effects all have had issues this week that were not issues last week.

Having same issue as OP. Create a test box and type but no text. Tried reseting characters, tried restaring AE, tried fresh project. None of the text shows up regardless of opacity, colors, layer level... How is this an issue that is happening?

I have the same issue. It just started today . I had to open an existing file and copy and paste.
