Hi everyone, I am struggling with a problem I have with my footage and, after spending quite sometime searching for an answer on Google and this forum, I decided to ask here.
I have a footage of an object moving in a static scene, from two different perspectives. My goal is to have one perspective as main content, with a shape (rectangle or circle) in the bottom right corner where the moving object is tracked from the other perspective (such a shape should basically always have the moving object in its center, more or less, but the shape itself doesn't have to move). I managed to track the object quite well, and to show it on the top of the main footage I created a shape, connected to a null object which tracks the object, and used the Alpha matte to cut out everything else. The result is that the shape moves with the object in the image, but I would like to have the shape itself static at a given position.
Does anyone know how I can achieve this? Thanks a lot for your help!

What you want is have your tracker set to stabilize in the 2nd clip. That will move the anchor point so that it's always over the object you're tracking. Then you can move the layer into the corner and use a shape layer or solid as a track mask to crop out the rest of the shot

Essentially splitting the layer and holding the frame.
If I understand you correctly: Precompose the footage split the layer at the point you want it to go static and right click>time>freeze on last frame. You can have it start moving again at any time by clipping the out point of the static layer and haveing the moving layer come back in on the very next frame. You could also use the same general method but instead of using freexe on last frame you could just render a single image and cut it in between the layers. Essentially splitting the layer and holding the frame.
But maybe I misunderstand what youre trying to achieve.

Thanks a lot for your reply, however this is not exactly what I am trying to do. I guess I did not explain it correctly, so I'll try again.
What I need is to have clip1 as main video, clip2 overlayed in the bottom right corner, not scaled but cropped around the moving object. This way, clip1 will play normally and in the bottom right corner I have the camera following the object from a different perspective. Is it clear enough?

That's exactly what I was looking for, excellent! Thanks a lot!
