Transform Properties on Video Clips in Nested Comp

Explorer ,
May 20, 2017 May 20, 2017

Ae 2017 (14.2.0.198)

I haven't used Ae a lot, so really still learning. Here is my problem:

I have three clips in a comp. That comp is nested in my main comp.

I'm trying to Scale each of the three clips in the nested comp down to 60% or so, but the clips refuse to scale at all. In fact, none of the Transform properties has any effect on any of the three clips in the nested comp -- Scale, Position, Opacity, etc.

I have a Linear Wipe on the top two clips, and all three clips have designated In/Out markers set. Just to check, I have removed all those markers and transitions, but, still, none of the Transform properties has any effect on those clips.

If I drop the clip(s) in my Main comp, all is well -- all Transform properties work as expected. They just won't work in the nested comp.

Since I have limited experience with Ae, I must be overlooking something, but can't figure out what it is.

George
