Trapcode Particular Question

Hey there,

Hoping somebody here can help me with a problem I've run up against.

I've got an after effects comp where I want Particular to begin emitting  halfway down the timeline. It's no problem keyframing particles per second. The problem I'm having is that I can't get it to follow the path that I have set up to begin on the same frame that particles begin emitting. Searched for tutorials but folks always have Particular begin at the beginning of the comp. Any tips or links to tutorials would be deeply appreciated. Thanks is advance!
